@Ann: Lee has been very busy incorporating the gedcom files of many family members for inclusion in the Aroet book and hasn't been able to respond to each submission. I have forwarded your note to him directly, but if anyone else has specific questions regarding their data, you can send him a message on the "Contact Lee" link at the upper right part of this page, or go to http://halefam.org/contact/

Thanks for the link, Allan. The "23 Things" are a great start to help you understand how to use new technology with genealogy work. A few of the "things" mentioned in this list is a mountain of resources in each one that are great to use when looking for specific data on an ancestor. Others are more general purpose for communicating with family members or others who are working on the same family lines that you are.

David

It was good to read your post. I wish that I had known that you were attending RootsTech as I only live in Orem and would have made a concerted effort to make it.
If any one is interested in learning how to use modern technology in Family History try https://fch.ldschurch.org/WWSupport/23things/ . This was tailored to family history use by one of the pros at the Family History Library and is a self learn about web 2.0 technology like the RSS you mention. I think it is a great idea to use this so our dues go to research efforts rather than postage etc.
The web site I mention in my profile is my effort to inform my descendants about interesting family tidbits.

As mentioned in the article (above) the book still has a while before it can be published. We don't even know how long it will be, so the printing costs haven't been estimated. Because of this, it is still early to preorder, so you are welcome to check back on the web site everyone now and then or wait for a general announcement in the newsletter. We hope to start offering the newsletter articles on this web site, so those announcements will be here as well.
