The "23 Things" are a great start to help you understand how to use new technology with genealogy work. A few of the "things" mentioned in this list is a mountain of resources in each one that are great to use when looking for specific data on an ancestor. I wish that I had known that you were attending RootsTech as I only live in Orem and would have made a concerted effort to make it. This was tailored to family history use by one of the pros at the Family History Library and is a self learn about web 2.0 technology like the RSS you mention. I think it is a great idea to use this so our dues go to research efforts rather than postage etc. The web site I mention in my profile is my effort to inform my descendants about interesting family tidbits.
