Research

We are starting to compile a list of external web links which may be used to help research genealogy and family history to add to our existing records or to provide source documentation for those that we already have. Please leave a comment if you find any others with important resources.

Other Hale Websites

After investigating many options, we have decided to host our genealogy data using an open source application, PhpGedView. Because this application is very interactive, it is easy to find the data you are looking for right on our web site. Authorized family members who are doing research on particular lines don’t have to worry about merging their changes with the master database. This application allows you to make changes directly into the master source after a review by other family researchers. Of course there is security to ensure that the privacy of living individuals is retained.

Take a look at the Family History Research section of our site and see what this has to offer! Family members who would like to see how they fit in personally to the rest of the family may request an account by clicking on the “login” link at the top of the Family History page. Be sure to indicate how you believe you are related in the comments section. (Be default you can only see the details of living individuals in this database for whom you indicate that you are closely related)

The Hale Family Organization (a registered non-profit organization) is offering familiy-related items to the public. All proceeds of these items and other donations go towards additional genealogical research. (We are still accepting special donations for the Jonathan / Olive memorial marker in Winter Quarters, Iowa.)
