Hale Family Organization
Business Meeting – 4:00 PM
30 July 2005, Grantsville, Utah

Requests from the family:
• We would like to be able to get the newsletters online.
• Lucille Hale Jones asked about genealogy.
• There was discussion as to whether the family organization would support genealogy for the wives’ lines. Lee told us that at the present time, the focus of the Hale Family Organization is on the Hale ancestry and that of the wives of the four orphans. Work other lines should be coordinated by the respective family groups interested in the lines.
• We need a temple work/research plan.
• We need to locate “lost” family members
• We need to put an “unknown” photo section on the website to help family members identify old unknown photos.
• There was discussion of the Hale Historical tour.
• There was discussion of having “e-mail” or “family” representatives in the grandfather families to help keep addresses and other family information current.

General Discussion and Reports:
• Lee talked about doing high resolution scans of significant historical documents. This work will be available via CD/DVD.
• Lee told us about the support Carol Jefferies provided to the reunion. Her mother is a Hale. She sings in the Mormon Tabernacle Choir and runs a store in Grantsville. She helped us with cookies for the reunion.
• Lee reported on how 30 July 2005 was picked for the reunion and how we did not realize the significance of the date when we felt prompted to select that day. This is a gentle reminder of the importance of the work we are doing, not only to us, but to our family members on the other side of the veil.
• Lee told us about website improvements and progress. Thanks to David N Hale for working on this for us.

Motions presented to the family:
• A motion was presented, seconded, and passed to hold the next reunion in 2010 at Logan, Utah.
• A motion was presented, seconded, and passed to retain Lee Hale as president of the organization for another five years.

Other Business of Note:
• The Jonathan H Hale book has been reprinted and is now available to the family
• The Alma H Hale book has been reprinted and is available to the family
• The 4th Generation Book was available to the reunion with histories on the 28 surviving 4th Generation Family Members
• We were pleased with the first Hale Family Youth Conference. Thanks to Andrea Warren for organizing this.
• The updated genealogy CD was available to the family.
